A 58-year-old woman who died of breast cancer was not untimely diagnosed, a Philadelphia jury found, ruling in favor of the surgeon who performed an initial biopsy of Lorraine Fritsch’s breast 13 months before she was diagnosed with the disease.

The 12-member jury in Fritsch v. Levy deliberated for about two hours April 15 before determining Margaret Levy was not negligent in her care of Fritsch.
