Voters in scandal-plagued Luzerne County shied away from a “vote them all out” mentality Tuesday, instead opting to keep one of their judges facing retention while removing the other from office.

Judge Peter Paul Olszewski Jr., who faced an uphill battle after a picture of him with a convicted drug dealer and an indicted judge appeared on the front page of a local Wilkes-Barre newspaper, was ousted from the bench by a 55.5 to 44.5 percent margin.
