A man who drove the wrong way on Long Island’s Meadowbrook State Parkway after a night of drinking and slammed into a limousine on its way back from a wedding acted with depraved indifference to human life, a Brooklyn-based appellate panel ruled yesterday, affirming his 2007 conviction on two counts of second degree murder and three counts of first-degree assault.

A panel of the Appellate Division, Second Department, said the evidence presented to the jury established that Martin Heidgen engaged in “reckless conduct” which created a “grave” risk of death.
