A Nassau County judge has refused to enforce a retainer agreement that allegedly bound a client to pay its law firm $300,000, regardless of the time the firm spent on the case.

Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein of Garden City sued Vista Maro, a Manhattan-based development corporation it represented in two now-settled actions, claiming the client violated a retainer agreement when it did not pay the firm $152,050, the remainder of what it is owed for nearly a year of legal representation.
