Attorney General-elect Eric T. Schneiderman has assembled a 71-member transition committee to assist him in recruiting talent to an office that he said places “legal excellence over politics and partisanship.”

At a news conference yesterday at New York University School of Law, Mr. Schneiderman announced that Harlan Levy, a partner at Boies Schiller & Flexner, would chair the team, which is comprised of prosecutors, academics, private practitioners, government officials and leaders of non-profit organizations.
