Samuel W. Seymour, the incoming president of the New York City Bar, said his top priority is to revitalize the 140-year-old institution's standing with lawyers in their 20s and early 30s. Mr. Seymour said he also plans over the next two years to boost the group's focus on international law and continue to advocate for the city bar's traditional concerns, such as pro bono and judicial independence.

“You have to have programs, activities, and content that speaks to that generation,” said Mr. Seymour, a partner at Sullivan & Cromwell who assumes his new post tomorrow.
