Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz elected two associates to the partnership yesterday, bolstering its corporate and restructuring practices. Wachtell promoted Benjamin Roth in its corporate practice and Joshua Feltman in its restructuring practice. The number of new partners is down from 2008, when the firm promoted six lawyers.

Wachtell, which in 2008 posted $4 million in profits per partner, has consistently ranked as the most profitable firm in the country, according to The American Lawyer, a Law Journal affiliate. With the promotions, Wachtell will have a total of 88 partners. The 240-lawyer firm played a prominent role in advising banks ranging from Morgan Stanley; Wells Fargo & Company; and Bank of America Corporation throughout last year’s financial crisis.
