Say on Pay - The Great Game of 2011 - Let the Games Begin

The Dodd-Frank Act has made Say on Pay (SOP), the advisory vote on executive compensation, a mandatory practice for publicly-traded companies. This required, but non-binding vote on executive compensation will carry a great deal of weight in 2011, 2012 and 2013, for the majority of U.S. public companies.

Overcoming Language Barriers in Patent Research with a Three-Pronged Approach

Language barriers have long been a major challenge in the global effort to protect intellectual property. It?s very difficult to effectively assert or enforce IP rights if you?re unable to accurately determine which patents are on file in a foreign jurisdiction that operates with a language other than your own - or, for that matter, uses an entirely different alphabet. The challenge of how we overcome language barriers in patent research is a serious one, but there have recently been some exciting technological advances that should give legal professionals reason for optimism.
