Accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev pleaded not guilty Wednesday during a hearing crowded with victims of the April 15 explosions, as a Boston federal magistrate judge warned attorneys against filing an excessive number of sealed documents.
By District of Massachusetts Magistrate Judge Marianne Bowler’s count, 30 victims and family members were on hand to see Tsarnaev answer for the crimes. One of his attorneys, Judy Clarke of San Diego's Clarke & Rice, well-known for her work in capital cases, tried to answer for Tsarnaev, but Bowler insisted that he respond himself.
