CROWELL AND & MORING

Christopher Cole, 46, has joined Crowell & Moring's advertising and product risk-management practice as a partner and co-chairman of the practice. He focuses on commercial litigation, advertising and media controversies, unfair competition, green marketing, compliance and risk prevention. Previously, he was advertising litigation practice chairman at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips. He received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law.

FINNEGAN, HENDERSON, FARABOW, GARRETT & DUNNER

Stephanie Bald, 33, Christopher Blackford, 36, Kenie Ho, 37, Jennifer Johnson, 38, Jill MacAlpine, 42, Denise Main, 41, William Raich, 41, and P. Andrew Riley, 39, have been promoted from associate to partner in Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner's Washington office. Bald focuses on trademark law, false advertising, domain-name matters, unfair competition and copyright litigation. She received her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. Blackford focuses on patent law, with a particular emphasis on litigation before U.S. district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission. He received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. Ho focuses on patent litigation and intellectual property management and transactions. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Johnson focuses on patent litigation in biotechnology-related fields. She received her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law. MacAlpine focuses on patent litigation, patent procurement, due diligence investigations, opinion work and counseling. She received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School. Main focuses on U.S. district court and appellate litigation primarily in the chemical and pharmaceutical realms. She received her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. Raich focuses on U.S. district court patent litigation and prelitigation client counseling in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Riley focuses on patent litigation before U.S. district courts and the ITC. He received his J.D. from College of William and Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law.

O'MELVENY & MYERS

David Leviss, 42, will be promoted from senior counsel to partner in O'Melveny & Myers' Washington office effective January 1, 2013. A member of the white-collar defense and corporate investigations group, he focuses on whistleblower qui tam actions under the False Claims Act and enforcement actions based on the Anti-Kickback Statute. He received his J.D. from New York University School of Law.

REED SMITH

David Houston, 56, has joined Reed Smith's Falls Church, Va., office as a partner in its real estate practice. He focuses on real estate development with a particular emphasis on commercial leasing, land use and zoning. Previously, he was a partner in the Tysons Corner, Va., office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. He received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School.

VENABLE

Ellen Berge, 39, Sarah Johnson, 38, and Jonathan Pompan, 37, have been promoted from of counsel to partner in Venable's Washington office. Dismas (Diz) Locaria, 36, has been promoted from associate to partner. Berge is a member of the government and regulatory affairs practice group, where she focuses on transactional, regulatory and policy matters. She received her J.D. from Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. Johnson focuses on estate planning and administration, business succession planning and charitable giving. She received her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law. Pompan focuses on providing legal advice and regulatory advocacy to clients including for-profit companies, nonprofit organizations and trade and professional associations. He received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School. Locaria focuses on assisting government contractors on working with the federal government, with an emphasis on the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies Act of 2002. He received his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.

WILSON SONSINI GOODRICH & ROSATI

Gary Greenstein, 47, will be promoted from of counsel to partner in Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati's Washington office effective February 1, 2013. Greenstein focuses on intellectual property, licensing and commercial transactions. He received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
