In a move aimed at helping it finance its $18.4 billion acquisition of aircraft equipment maker Goodrich, United Technologies Corporation said Thursday it will sell its Hamilton Sundstrand Industrial subsidiary to a pair of private equity firms. The announcement came the day before the Justice Department said it will grant the Goodrich deal antitrust approval provided UTC sheds additional assets. Wachtell and Crowell & Moring have been advising UTC on antitrust issues related to the Goodrich deal.
