Republicans on Capitol Hill have long criticized Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. on transparency issues, claiming that secrecy trumps openness even as top officials at the U.S. Department of Justice maintain the office has never been more open than now.
The target of the latest complaints: Holder’s reluctance to disclose internal DOJ documents in the controversy over the Fast and Furious gun sting, a dispute that now appears headed to Washington’s federal trial court.
