A California company that recently settled a $2.2 billion copyright lawsuit over its filtering software has turned its sights on Google Inc., claiming that the search engine company profited from posting ads that infringe on its trademarks.

Solid Oak Software Inc. on June 18 sued Google and ContentWatch Inc., claiming they both made money from advertisements for a competing product using the name CYBERsitter. CYBERsitter, which Solid Oak sells for $39.95, blocks children from viewing pornography and other inappropriate content on the Internet. ContentWatch sells a similar product, called Net Nanny, for $29.99.
