Prosecutorial misconduct claims have taken a tremendous toll on high-visibility cases in recent years. From the Duke lacrosse case to the dismissal of the 2008 case against former Sen. Ted Stevens to the dismissal last year of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) charges against Lindsey Manufacturing Co., judges have been cracking down on prosecutors

and their agents. Just last month, U.S. District Judge Richard Leon threw out the largest-ever FCPA case, stating that he hoped that the “very expensive ordeal [would] be a true learning experience for the [Department of Justice] and the FBI as they regroup to investigate and prosecute FCPA cases.”
