As the co-managing partner of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office — which happens to be the single largest law office in Florida — 36-year-old Jaret Davis oversees a few attorneys who are more than twice his age. Davis’ relative youth could easily create an awkward management dynamic if not for his efforts to downplay his authority and emphasize teamwork. “You really have to have the right perspective going in, and bring a service approach to the job,” he said. “I look at it as, ‘I’m a resource for them.’ The ultimate asset a leader can have is for people to know that everything you do is with an eye toward improving.”

Davis makes all budget decisions for the firm’s Miami office and oversees more than 150 lawyers and 200 staff. Prior to his current appointment, he helped direct recruiting efforts for the entire firm. On top of his management duties, Davis maintains a robust corporate law practice that focuses on the information-technology and life-sciences sectors. Those niches have been growing, and along with them his reputation for successfully handling a wide range of corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, compliance matters and securities transactions.
