David Rivkin is the heavyweight dispute-resolution attorney whom the biggest companies in the world want in their corner.
He is co-chairman of Debevoise & Plimpton's international dispute-resolution group, one of the busiest practices of its kind. He secured for Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. a $750 million arbitration award against International Petroleum Investment Corp., an investment arm of the Abu Dhabi government, and has handled high-dollar arbitration matters in just about every arbitration forum in the world. Those matters have involved energy concessions, intellectual property issues, construction cases, investment treaties and more.
In November, he was named secretary-general of the International Bar Association.
