The school announced on Friday that it will receive $600,000 from the Nesser family — John T. Nesser III, chief operating officer and executive vice president of McDermott International Inc.; his son, J.T. Nesser IV, a partner at Houston-based Porter Hedges; and his daughter, Tulane University Law School career counselor Amanda Nesser Moeller. All three Nessers received J.D.s from LSU law.
The donation will establish the Nesser Family Endowed Chair in Energy Law, which will help the school expand its oil, gas and mineral law program. It will be only the second endowed chair at the law school.
