The Legal Services Corporation, a federally funded private non-profit with a budget of $420 million, was faulted for the way it awards grants and monitors the effectiveness of the programs it funds.

“These deficiencies increase the risk that LSC may not be considering all relevant information in a consistent manner, limit LSC’s ability to explain the results of award decisions, and have resulted in inaccurate information in the LSC grants grantee application evaluations,” the GAO found.
