Many graduating law students expecting to show up for their first day at their law firm jobs next fall are learning the hard way that the old rules don't apply when the economy is tanking. The latest trend for firms looking to cut expenses is to delay the incoming class of associates from September to December, or later — that is, if they haven't decided to rescinded job offers made to 3Ls completely.
