A federal judge in Florida on Dec. 22 dismissed a key charge in the money-laundering case against Miami lawyer Ben Kuehne, ruling that Congress had exempted transactions necessary to preserve a person's right to legal representation from the money-laundering statute. John Nields, one of Kuehne's defense lawyers, talked with the NLJ about his client's recent win.
