The number of Florida attorneys donating their time to pro bono work has remained stagnant since the start of the decade, according to a recent study commissioned by the Florida Supreme Court. The study showed that the percentage of attorneys reporting pro bono work was the same in 2006 as it was in 2000 — 52%. During the same period, Florida pro bono programs such as legal aid reported a 30% decline in the number of attorneys who volunteered through their agencies.
