Law firms around the country are continuing to lay off attorneys and staff. Moore & Van Allen, based in Charlotte, N.C., let go three attorneys last week, while Boston's Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge laid off almost 60 support staff members, the firms have confirmed. Moore & Van Allen attributed its cuts to the economy, while Edwards Angell said improvements in technology and efficiencies have allowed the firm to reduce staff.
