Layoffs have hit one of the largest law firms in the country. White & Case on Tuesday dumped a total of 70 associates and counsel, or 3% of its attorney workforce. Friday will be the last day at the firm for the majority of those who were laid off, said a firm spokesman. The law firm did not say which offices or practice areas were hit by the cuts, but did say it was reducing its "global" legal head count.
