The Democrats — fearful of a repeat of the 2000 election battle — were in Tallahassee state court Monday morning, explaining to a judge why they feared the Republicans planned wide-scale voter challenges.
The lawsuit, filed in Leon County last week, accuses the Republicans of challenging some 300 voters in Glades County. Under a Florida law passed several years ago, anyone can submit a list of voters with questionable addresses to supervisors of elections throughout the state, potentially barring them from voting.
