Savett, managing principal at Philadelphia’s Berger & Montague, was part of a team of attorneys who represented the holders of more than 40 million credit cards who had their personal information stolen from discount retailer TJX Cos. She also negotiated compensation for pet owners affected by the largest pet-food recall in history.

The task demanded flexibility, creativity and a careful calculation of the risks of a trial, said Savett, chairwoman of her firm’s securities litigation department.
