Fee-shifting in construction disputes: A recent federal decision enforces fee-shifting provisions in a construction subcontract. But, lawyers should be cautioned that requirements for securing attorney-fee awards are rigid and, if not properly addressed, can turn a lucrative award into a costly and frustrating exercise.
