A new rule issued in August by the National Labor Relations Board (“the board”) will require most private sector employers to post notices informing employees of their collective bargaining rights.

The board, which seldom has utilized its rulemaking authority during its 76-year history, also has proposed amendments to its election rules and regulations that would significantly shorten the time between the filing date of a union’s election petition and the date an election is held, and defer most litigation concerning voter eligibility until after the election.
