Nexidia has upgraded its desktop-based audio review software, AudioFinder 3, to include a “Search by Example” feature aimed at helping users locate individual words or phrases within an audio file, says Nexidia president and CEO John Willcutts.
    Users can annotate and share the results of their investigations, as well as save, export, and play audio outside of the software.
    Language ID automatically detects what languages are being spoken, and flags each file accordingly, he says.

Guidance Software has made available Encase eDiscovery version 4, analysis and first-pass review software, to organizations that want to bring e-discovery in house. The new version is designed to assess and analyze data during and after collection, as well as during and after processing.

Worldox: Many vendors are now offering their software as a service on the web. This not only includes e-discovery providers, but also document management suppliers. Now Worldox has announced a cloud-based service, Worldox CompleteCloud, that bundles their document management system with Windows 2008 Server and Exchange Server in a virtual machine environment that provides customers with a virtual desktop running Windows 7, Office 2010 and Worldox GX2.

ADERANT, an legal information management software provider, announced plans to release Expert Matter Planning, software that integrates with ADERANT Expert to manage the full life cycle of alternative fee arrangements. EMP aims to analyze existing matters and build matter profile templates to review work performed on prior matters and ascertain the duration, effort, and expertise required for a new, similar venture. The software is also designed to bring together time and roll-based information to produce fee estimates, along with projected profit and loss statements, so firms can ensure that each new matter meets profitability requirements.

Biscom released Biscom Delivery Server version 4.0, a secure file transfer product. The new version of BDS supports a connection to iManage DMS, allows you to drag and drop entire folders onto the BDS server for delivery, as well as automatic file compression to speed file transfers.
