Ramsey, N.J.-based Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. Inc., a provider of enterprise hardware and software, announced the launch of Corporate Announcements, an application for businesses to display internal messages on Konica Minolta's bizhub line of multifunctional printers.
The Corporate Announcement feature left me wondering how long it will be before I see a web business model on the bizhub MFP. That is, when a user will see advertisements displayed on the interface. I will give Konica Minolta less than a year to monetize the new feature and start selling ads on their MFPs.
Gavel & Gown Software Inc., a practice management software provider, is taking its Amicus Attorney Premium brand everywhere there is an internet connection, with the new Anywhere product. Amicus Anywhere connects to an instance of Amicus Premium running in your office from a PC, tablet, smartphone, or any device with a browser located outside of the office.
With Amicus Anywhere, you can view the firm's individual or group calendars, manage client matters, access contacts, and even save work back to the Amicus database running in your office. Gavel & Gown accomplishes this magic using the Microsoft's Azure platform, which connects your local Amicus Premium instance to the cloud.
We don't normally cover website upgrades, but iConect announced the launch of its new website, created by Biscuit Studios. The new web interface uses a relatively old mathematical calculation to display two-dimensional views previously applied to cartoons and online gaming, called parallax scrolling, which is very well explained by TechRepublic. Check out the effect at iConect.
