Thomson Reuters has announced that the agricultural company Syngenta will use Thomson IP Manager to manage its global assets. The software, developed through Thomson Reuter’s Intellectual Property (IP) & Science business, will help Syngenta with collaboration and risk management across the company. IP Manager helps users keep track of IP rights, licensing, contracts and products, and manage rights and risks.
According to Thomson Reuters, Syngenta selected IP Manager because it could link patent and trademark assets with contracts across product lines, which will centralize Syngenta's IP and legal contracting. This standardization will help Syngenta manage its patent information and data more easily, contributing to company growth.
Syngenta used the Thomson Reuters IP management consulting team to examine the company’s business needs and ways to improve its efficiency. Syngenta will also use IP Payments to manage its portfolio and legal services; IP Payments is created by the Thomson Reuters Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) unit.
Thomson Reuters is headquartered in New York City; Syngenta is based in Switzerland with U.S. headquarters in Delaware.
