Levit & James, Inc., announced on Tuesday that it has officially released Best Authority 3.0, a rebuild of its table of authorities software for Microsoft Word. The company will demonstrate the new version at LegalTech New York from January 29 to 31 at the New York Hilton (exhibit hall, booth #518).

According to Fletcher James, president of Levit & James, the new version of Best Authority has increased speed and can find all the citations in a 50-page brief in seconds.

The Leesburg Va.-based company will debut Best Authority's new Citation Revision Tracking feature at LTNY. The tracking feature pinpoints citations that have been added, changed, or deleted from previous versions of tables of authorities. BA 3 can now preview a completed table, which is refreshed live as it is proofread and edited.

Other features in the new Best Authority include easier proofing and editing as well as more powerful search functions. BA 3 citations are color highlighted in a document so their status can be easily identified in preview mode. The program can find a citation in a document by its text or other characteristics. And you can undo your mistakes in editing the table and view an audit trail of every edit action taken on the table of authorities.

Press release.
