Pasadena-based digital forensics and e-discovery provider Guidance Software has announced its fastest bridge for forensic imaging, the Tableau T35u USB 3.0 Forensic SATA/IDE Bridge.
The T35u uses a single USB 3.0 host connection to support write-blocked forensic imaging of SATA and IDE hard drives. Guidance Software's new bridge is compatible with the company's Tableau TKA5-AD adapter kit so it can interface and image smaller drives such as 1.8-inch and 2.5 inch-notebook, ZIF, microSATA, and blade-style solid state drives,
T35u also introduces a "U" update button which places the device in a special mode to block operator error when updating firmware through the Tableau Firmware Update utility, which has been rewritten for updates via USB 3.0.
Also available is the T35u-RW, configured for read/write operations — in a yellow case to ensure that forensic investigators won't confuse it with its black-cased, write-blocking cousin.
