Microsoft ushered Office 365, its online applications service for small and medium-sized businesses, out of beta status and into production yesterday. The service is a hybrid of local and hosted applications designed to compete against Google Apps for Business. Microsoft and its partners have offered hosted versions of various Office applications since the early 2000s, but never as a complete IT package. But the service still has some room for improvement.
