LexisNexis Inks Exclusive Deal With Rosen Technology ResourcesLaw Technology News 03-06-2013 New York-based LexisNexis Legal & Professional, a provider of legal software and content, announced the integration of Chicago-based Rosen Technology Resources Inc.'s e-discovery tools Polaris and ALCoder into LexisNexis' e-discovery software through an exclusive licensing agreement. Polaris offers near-duplicate technology and email threading. The near-duplicate function identifies and groups documents that are nearly identical by evaluating the documents' contents based on parameters set by the user. Rosen's email threading software groups entire email conversations together in one thread, preserving the emails in their original order along with any attachments. ALCoder automatically codes the text of electronic documents by identifying and extracting information such as author, recipient, date of creation, and enters the data into code fields. Rosen's automatic coding technology can tag documents using metadata gleaned from scanned documents after optical character recognition has been applied; automatic codes can also work to augment or correct metadata in electronic documents. Per the agreement, Polaris and ALCoder will continue to be sold as stand-alone tools but will also integrate with LexisNexis early case assessment tool Early Data Analyzer, its processing software LAW PreDiscovery, and its document review software Concordance Evolution. LexisNexis plans to initially integrate Polaris and ALCoder into Early Data Analyzer and LAW PreDiscovery and have it commercially available as an optional module in April. Integration with Concordance Evolution is planned later in 2013. Michael Roach is LTN's associate editor. Send email. |
