Symantec: Files, Databases Overtake E-Mail in E-Discovery

E-mail is no longer the most requested type of electronically stored information in e-discovery, having been eclipsed by application data, database records, and documents, according to a new report from Symantec. The survey of 2,000 enterprises' IT and legal employees also found that 44 percent of companies lack a formal data retention policy.
