Minter Ellison has added a partner to its Sydney office.

James Mok, previously a partner at King & Wood Mallesons, specializes in structured finance matters, particularly leasing and financing deals for aircraft. In his new role, Mok will work closely with Sydney partner John Elias, who leads a team at Minter Ellison advising on derivatives, debt capital markets, securitization and asset finance deals.

Mok's previous clients include Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., Virgin Australia Holdings Pty. Ltd., as well as lessors and financiers of aircraft linked to Australia's Qantas Airway Ltd.

Qualified in Australia, Mok joined the former Mallesons Stephen Jaques as an associate in 1996. He was made partner in 2006. During his time at Mallesons, Mok was seconded for three years to the Australia and New Zealand in-house team of GE Capital Aviation Services.
