Singapore law firm Stamford Law Corp. has hired three partner-level lawyers for its regional practice.
Justyn Jagger and Timothy Cooke, who have left their respective posts at DLA Piper and Clyde & Co., will be joining Stamford Law as partner-level foreign legal consultants. Wong Kee Fong, a former vice president in the legal department of Barclay Capital Inc.'s Singapore office, has been appointed as local director in Stamford Law's banking and finance practice.
Jagger focuses on acting on energy-, construction- and insurance-related disputes. He was the former Southeast Asia head of dispute resolution and co-chair of the global arbitration group at DLA Piper. Jagger was also part of the firm's insurance and re-insurance group. He joined DLA Piper as associate in 2003 and was made partner the following year. Prior to his time at DLA Piper, he was an associate at Herbert Smith. He joined Herbert Smith as trainee lawyer in 1992 and relocated to the firm's Singapore office in 1999.
Cooke, who specializes in cross-border construction, finance, energy and infrastructure arbitration matters, was a former Clyde & Co. dispute resolution partner. He joined Clyde & Co. last year, after spending four years as a Singapore-based associate at Baker & McKenzie. Before joining Baker & McKenzie, Cooke practiced in offshore firm Walkers and London-based Denton Wilde Sapte, respectively.
Wong's latest appointment marks her return to private practice, after spending five years at Barclays. Prior to her going in-house, she practiced in both the Hong Kong and Singapore offices of Baker & McKenzie as associate for seven years.
