K&L Gates Partner Heads to Colin Biggers
The Asian Lawyer
Colin Biggers & Paisley has hired a new partner for its Melbourne office. Nathan Abbott was previously a Sydney-based partner for K&L Gates. He advises on construction and infrastructure matters, including drafting and negotiating building contracts and litigating construction-related disputes.
Abbott joined the former Middletons, which merged with K&L Gates earlier this year, as partner in 2007. Before that, he was an associate at the former Blake Dawson for more than seven years.
Construction is one of the major practice areas for Colin Biggers, which has around 90 lawyers in two offices. The firm also focuses on insurance and property matters, as well as commercial disputes.
Sydney-based Colin Biggers moved into the Melbourne market last year via a merger with Monahan + Rowell, an insurance-focused firm. Abbott will help develop the firm's construction practice in Melbourne.
