Eversheds Hires Beijing Managing Partner
The Asian Lawyer
London-based Eversheds has hired a managing partner and a special counsel for its new Beijing office.
Ingrid Zhu-Clark is joining Eversheds as Beijing office head after less than a year in the local office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. A specialist in energy-related transactions, Zhu-Clark headed Dewey & LeBoeuf's Beijing office for over a decade until that firm's dissolution last year. Earlier in her career, she was an associate with the former Lovells in Beijing.
Special counsel Jay Ze is also joining Eversheds in Beijing. He was previously a counsel in the Beijing office of Spanish law firm Uria Menendez. Ze focuses on advising Chinese state-owned companies and investment banks on mergers and acquisitions deals. He joined Uria Menendez last year from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he was associate.
Eversheds announced plans for a Beijing office last fall though it only officially opened Monday.
In Asia, Eversheds has 49 lawyers working in its Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore offices. Globally, it has more than 1,200 lawyers.
