Singapore's Virtus Law Adds Partner
The Asian Lawyer
Stephenson Harwood's associated Singapore firm, Virtus Law, has hired a new partner from Duane Morris & Selvam.
Colin Jarraw, who was a director at Duane Morris & Selvam, will develop an offshore finance and shipping practice at Virtus. He specializes in advising banks and shipowners on noncontentious shipping matters including the financing and leasing of ships. He also acts for charter parties on shipbuilding contracts and mortgage registrations.
Jarraw joined Duane Morris & Selvam, the Singapore joint law venture between Philadelphia's Duane Morris and local firm Selvam, in 2011. Prior to that, he was a partner for two years at Singapore's Navin & Co.
Earlier in his career, Jarraw practiced as an associate at Allen & Gledhill and Joseph Tan Jude Benny in Singapore, as well as Chew Jugah Wan Ullok & Co. and Battenberg & Talma in Malaysia.
Stephenson Harwood entered into a formal association with Virtus in April. According to Virtus' website, the firm now has six lawyers, including three partners.
