The Asian Lawyer
One-time DLA Piper Singapore managing partner Martin David has left the firm to join the local office of Ince & Co as head of the firm's Asia energy practice.
David specializes in advising lenders and sponsors on project finance transactions, especially those related to the energy and construction sectors. He also advises corporations and financial institutions on a range of other deals, including mergers and acquisitions, in the region.
Most recently head of DLA Piper's Asia project finance practice, David joined the firm in 2008 as Singapore office head and held that position until 2011. Prior to joining DLA Piper, David was a partner with Linklaters for more than a decade in both Hong Kong and Singapore.
London-based Ince & Co has around 280 lawyers worldwide and is best known for its mainstay shipping, aviation and trade practices. In Asia, the firm also has offices in Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
In Singapore, the firm has a formal law alliance with local firm Incisive Law. Including David and the Incisive lawyers, Ince & Co's Singapore office has 27 lawyers, 14 of whom are partners.
