A federal judge in New York has upheld a terrorism prosecution against a U.S. citizen working for the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran. In response to the defendant's argument that the PMOI has been working with the U.S. military in Iraq, the judge found that it was permissible for "the military to forge alliances" with some in the PMOI while the government prosecutes citizens who render material support to the PMOI on their own. The judge also denied the defendant's First Amendment challenge.
