The Securities and Exchange Commission last week reported a record number of enforcement actions for the 2011 fiscal year, and this week released its first annual Whistleblower Program report [PDF], which suggests that record is sure to be broken next year as the tips pour in.

That’s the prediction of Jordan Thomas, a former senior attorney at the SEC who played a leading role in drafting both the whistleblower provisions of the Dodd-Frank Act of 2010, as well as the rules to implement it that went into effect in August.
