The State Bar of Georgia is considering requiring Georgia corporate counsel who are not licensed in Georgia to register with the bar and possibly pay fees — a move that would affect, among others, the top lawyers at the Coca-Cola Co., Delta Air Lines Inc. and the Southern Co.

“It’s in the early, early stage of study,” said Cliff Brashier, executive director of the State Bar of Georgia. He said the bar’s president, Jeffrey O. Bramlett of Bondurant, Mixson & Elmore, is in the process of appointing a committee to make a recommendation to the Supreme Court of Georgia on the issue.
