The Association of Corporate Counsel, along with a training service called WeComply, is offering a free two-minute "Summer Dress Code" phone message for ACC members to use for communicating guidelines and policies to their company employees.
The ACC announced the program under the title, "Flip-Flops at Work? Not for Everyone." The text of the message advises employees to dress professionally for their work, even through the more casual summer months, and offers information for further questions and answers.
This is the third program, called Ethicall, the ACC has offered.
"Our goal is to provide members with useful resources and services they can put into immediate practice," ACC President Frederick J. Krebs said in the announcement. "Because employers realize the importance of company dress code policies, we felt this was the appropriate time to offer this training service."
Also in the announcement, David Simon, president of WeComply, said, "It is important for employees to be aware of the company's policies on work attire. Socially acceptable attire still runs the risk of distracting colleagues, or worse, sending the wrong message to customers or clients. This call provides employers with a clear and concise method to educate their company employees about dress code guidelines."
A dedicated toll-free number and message is being offered to interested companies, and customized versions can be purchased.
The "Summer Dress Code" call will be available through Aug. 31, 2008, and can be heard online.
