SAN FRANCISCO

Daniel Kramer has joined Strike & Techel as a partner. Kramer, a member of the alcoholic beverage licensing practice, was most recently with Haas Najarian. He received his J.D. from University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2006.

SILICON VALLEY

Reed Smith has added Judy Deng as a counsel in its Palo Alto office. Deng, formerly with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, is a member of the corporate and securities group. She received her LL.M. from UC-Berkeley School of Law in 2002 and her J.D. and LL.M. in international business law from Fudan University School of Law in Shanghai.

Frederic "Fred" Adam has joined Foley & Lardner's Menlo Park office as a partner. Most recently a partner in the international corporate tax group of KPMG, Adam is a member of the tax and individual planning practice. He received his J.D. at University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1992 and his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law in 1993.

SACRAMENTO

Jared Goldman has joined Best Best & Krieger as a partner. Goldman, who previously served as in-house counsel to the Santa Clara Valley Health and Hospital System, will provide general counsel services and advice to health care providers. He is a 2000 graduate of UC-Hastings law school.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Juthamas Judy Suwatanapongched helped found the Thai American Bar Association in November; she currently serves as TABA's founding president. Suwatanapongched, an associate in Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton's business trial practice group in Los Angeles, graduated from University of Southern California School of Law in 2009.

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton has added Richard Christiansen to the firm’s San Diego office as an associate. Christiansen, most recently with Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear, is a member of the electronics and software team in the intellectual property department. He is a 2009 graduate of New York University School of Law.

Patrick Connolly has joined DLA Piper as a partner in the Los Angeles office. Connolly, who previously served as a principal in the international tax services group at PricewaterhouseCoopers, focuses on complex international tax matters and transactions with an emphasis on the technology sector. He earned his J.D. from University of San Diego School of Law in 1996 and LL.M. in tax from Boston University School of Law in 1997.

NEW PARTNERS

Shartsis Friese has elevated Christina Mickelson Hamilton, Larisa Meisenheimer and Lisa Jacobs to partner, effective Jan. 1.

Hamilton, a 2002 graduate of UC-Hastings law school, practices with the investment funds and advisers group.

Meisenheimer, a member of the litigation group, graduated from Stanford Law School in 2003.

Jacobs, who practices with the litigation group, earned her J.D. in 2003 from UC-Berkeley School of Law.

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has elected nine new partners, including Michael Coke, Kira Kimhi, Catherine Moreno, Maya Skubatch and Ryan Smith in Palo Alto and Katherine Henderson in San Francisco, effective Feb. 1.

Coke, a member of the corporate and securities practice, received his J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1997.

Henderson, a member of the litigation practice, graduated from Columbia Law School in 2003.

Kimhi, a member of the intellectual property practice, is a 1999 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center.

Moreno, a member of the litigation practice, earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2001.

Skubatch, a member of the intellectual property practice, is a 2001 graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law.

Smith, a member of the litigation practice, graduated from New York University School of Law in 2003.

O'Melveny & Myers has promoted six new partners, including Christopher Del Rosso in Newport Beach and Houman Ehsan and Carlos Lazatin in Los Angeles, effective Jan. 1.

Del Rosso, a member of the executive compensation and employee benefits team, earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2002.

Ehsan, a member of the class actions, mass torts and insurance litigation group, graduated from University of Southern California School of Law in 2003.

Lazatin, a member of the class actions, mass torts and insurance litigation practice, is a 2003 graduate of Harvard Law School.
