SAN FRANCISCO — Not even Alice Waters can save Drake’s Bay Oyster Co.

So it appeared Tuesday, as a U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit panel — though possibly divided — signaled that it would let the Obama administration shut down the popular Point Reyes farm and tourist destination and restore it to wilderness. Such a ruling would cheer environmentalists but disappoint eco-conscious foodies like Waters, the owner of Berkeley’s Chez Panisse restaurant who signed onto an amicus curiae brief in the case.
