SAN FRANCISCO
Marten Law has added Erika Anderson as of counsel. Anderson, who previously had her own firm, Anderson Law Firm, represents clients in complex transactional matters relating to cleantech, energy and sustainability. She earned her J.D. from Cornell Law School in 2008.
Carroll, Burdick & McDonough has named Matthew Kemner chairman of the firm. He assumes the post from Vicki Freimann, who has served as managing partner since 2009. Kemner represents European manufacturers in product liability, class action, ATCA claims and complex litigation in the U.S., Europe and globally, and earned his J.D. from University of Missouri Law School in 1991.
J. Thomas Rosch has returned to Latham & Watkins as of counsel in the firm's antitrust and competition practice group within the litigation department. He will reside in the firm's Washington, D.C., and San Francisco offices. Rosch, who recently completed a term on the Federal Trade Commission, received his LL.B. from Harvard University in 1965.
Hanson Bridgett has added partner M. Brett Gladstone and counsel Susanne Kelly. Both were previously with Gladstone's firm, Gladstone & Associates.
Gladstone focuses on real estate and land use law, with expertise in condominium and planned developments and subdivision issues. He graduated from Duke University School of Law in 1983.
Kelly focuses on real estate and land use law. She is a 1997 graduate of University of San Francisco School of Law.
Brendan Herron has joined Silicon Legal Strategy as an associate. Formerly with Kirkland & Ellis, Herron advises startups, entrepreneurs, venture capital funds and angel investors in venture financings, M&A transactions and high-stakes commercial agreements. He earned his J.D. from University of Michigan Law School in 2009.
Novak Druce Connolly Bove & Quigg has added Marcus Hall as a partner. Hall will practice out of the firm's San Francisco and Los Angeles offices and focus on intellectual property litigation and complex commercial litigation. Most recently with Winston & Strawn, he graduated from UC-Hastings law school in 1999.

Attorneys Peter Goldsmith and Andrea Bednarova have joined Foster Employment Law in Oakland.
Goldsmith, previously a partner with the firm then known as Townsend and Townsend and Crew, focuses on employer-employee disputes, large commercial matters and intellectual property issues with a focus on trade secret law. He is a 1978 graduate of UC-Berkeley School of Law.
Bednarova, formerly with The Climate Corp., focuses on civil litigation including insurance coverage and bad faith litigation with an emphasis on large commercial and business interruption losses. She received her J.D. from UC-Hastings law school in 2006.
Foran Glennon Palandech Ponzi & Rudloff has added Michelle Law and Sherolyn Lee as associates in Emeryville.
Law, who was previously with Goeschl Law Corp., focuses on insurance litigation. She graduated from UC-Hastings law school in 2006.
Lee, formerly with Morison Holden Derewetzky & Prough, focuses on insurance coverage and litigation. She is a 2007 graduate of St. John's University School of Law.
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Alan Jackson has joined Palmer, Lombardi & Donohue's Los Angeles office as a partner and co-chair of the trial and arbitration group. Jackson, an 18-year veteran prosecutor and former assistant head deputy for the L.A. County district attorney's office, graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1994.
Los Angeles' Eisner Kahan has changed its name to Eisner Kahan Gorry Chapman Ross & Jaffe to coincide with Robert Jaffe joining the firm as a name partner, and to include partners Robert Chapman and Rick Ross. Jaffe, previously with the firm formerly known as Steckbauer Weinhart Jaffe, is chair of the firm's real estate department. He is a 1992 graduate of Loyola Law School.

Blakely Sokoloff Taylor & Zafman has elevated five attorneys to partner firmwide, including Jacob Aikin and Matthew Nicholson in Silicon Valley and Linh-Han Nguyen in Orange County. All three lawyers focus on intellectual property law. Aikin received his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2006. Nicholson is a 2007 graduate of University of Miami School of Law. Nguyen graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology's Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2007.
