SAN FRANCISCO

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton has added Ben Kleinman-Green as an associate on the patent litigation team in the intellectual property department. Kleinman-Green, who also has experience with trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation and counseling, graduated from New York University School of Law in 2008.

SILICON VALLEY

Attorney Ashitha Bhagwan has joined Royse Law Firm's Palo Alto office. Bhagwan, who previously served as the managing attorney of the Law Office of Ashitha Bhagwan, focuses on the formation, development and financing of emerging growth companies. She received her LL.M. in corporate law from New York University School of Law in 2008 and her LL.B. from University Law College in Bangalore, India, in 2007.

Ellen McKissock was formally inducted as a fellow into the Litigation Counsel of America. McKissock, a shareholder at Hopkins & Carley in San Jose, is chair of the firm's trust and estate litigation department. She graduated from UC-Hastings.

Latham & Watkins has promoted Alice Chung to counsel, effective Jan. 1. Chung, based in Menlo Park, advises on executive compensation and employee benefits matters as well as company representation. She received her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2003.

SAN MATEO COUNTY

The Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County has elected attorney and public policy analyst Stacey Keare as president of the board of directors. Keare, who previously served as vice president, is a 1997 graduate of UC-Hastings law school.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

James Evans Jr. has joined Alston & Bird's litigation team as a partner in the firm's Los Angeles office. Formerly with Fulbright & Jaworski, Evans' practice includes class actions related to wage-and-hour violations, employee misclassification, unfair competition, false advertising, disability discrimination and privacy violations. He graduated from UC-Berkeley School of Law in 1985.

Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth has added Jason Anderson and Stephen Kong as shareholders.

Anderson, most recently with Bingham McCutchen, is based in Newport Beach and focuses on complex commercial litigation, consumer class actions, merger and acquisition litigation, shareholder and partner disputes and contract and real estate litigation. He received his J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law in 1994.

Kong, who is based in the Santa Monica office, previously served as senior corporate counsel for Sony Computer Entertainment America. He focuses on technology transactions and intellectual property licensing and is a 1995 graduate of Emory University School of Law.

Latham & Watkins has promoted Yoni Tuchman and Joshua Bledsoe to counsel, effective Jan. 1.

Tuchman, based in Los Angeles, is a corporate attorney who focuses on investment fund formation and on joint ventures and other strategic transactions. He earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2004.

Bledsoe, based in Costa Mesa, focuses on complex infrastructure and development projects, particularly those utilizing renewable or low-carbon technologies. He graduated from UCLA School of Law in 2004.

NEW PARTNERS

Latham & Watkins has elected 18 lawyers to the partnership, including Melanie Blunschi and Duncan Moore in Los Angeles, David Lee in Costa Mesa, James Metz in Menlo Park and Jake Ryan in San Diego.

Blunschi specializes in complex business litigation, including professional liability matters, securities class actions, shareholder derivative claims and other business disputes. She received her J.D. from Stanford Law School in 2004.

Moore is an environmental and land use attorney whose practice focuses on obtaining and defending project-siting and environmental approvals for major infrastructure, energy and development projects. He graduated from University of Virginia School of Law in 2004.

Lee is a corporate attorney focused on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets transactions and public- and private-company representation. He is a 2004 graduate of Northwestern University School of Law.

Metz is a tax lawyer focused on executive compensation and employee benefits matters. He earned his J.D. from UC-Berkeley School of Law in 2004.

Ryan is a trial lawyer focused on intellectual property litigation, white-collar criminal defense and government investigations and other complex business litigation. He graduated from University of Iowa College of Law in 1997.
