SACRAMENTO — Following a grueling, hours-long hearing, the Judicial Council on Thursday charged an internal committee with evaluating the 140-plus recommendations in a recently released report that was highly critical of the Administrative Office of the Courts.

The Executive and Planning Committee, led by Justice Douglas Miller of the Fourth District Court of Appeal, will return to the council in August with proposals for what to do with the recommendations issued by the Strategic Evaluation Committee. The council also launched a 30-day public comment period on the report.
